I knit these two boxes by hand of 100% high quality wool yarn. I love the way the natural colors blend from light tan, a band of medium tan and then a rim of luscious rust colored yarn. Knitting the box first gives me some control over the general size and shape of the piece. Wet felting it is much more of an art than science – though there is sound science behind the technique. You are never 100% sure how the final work will turn out.

These are very heavily felted, but there is still just enough stitching visible to provide a pleasing texture to the boxes. They are stiff enough to stand as a box, but flexible enough to give just the right natural nested look.

The smaller, inner box is approximately 7 inches by 6 inches by 2 1/2 inches high. The larger, outer box is 10 inches by 8 inches by 3 inches high.

The listed price is for one set of two boxes. The decorative felted hearts are for display purposes only and are not included. They are available in the store as a separate item.
