About Me

Hello!

I am Haila, also known as Grandma HaHa, and I am so glad you have come to visit me on this site! I hope we get to know each other as good friends, because I am certain we have many common interests, issues and things to share and learn!

Tim, Haila and Candy

My given name is Haila (pronounced “HAY-la”), but it happened that it was difficult for one of our granddaughters to say, so she called me Grandma HaHa and it stuck. I love it so much! In their minds, my name is tied to laughter, smiles, fun and joy! It reminds me to continually seek those attributes in my life.

I love my Savior, Jesus, without reservation and I do my best to continually build my personal relationship with God.

I love my husband, Tim! Also known as Pop and PopPop, he is my best friend, partner in all things, woodworker extraordinaire and my biggest fan. I love our grown children and our two granddaughters. I love retirement after a long and fascinating (sometimes) career in Environmental Science. I love our little piece of West Virginia “Almost Heaven” and the home we had built on a hill there just a few years ago. I love my two horses – they are my childhood/lifelong dream come true – and the two dogs and cat who share this place. I love to make handmade crafts of fiber of all kinds, including baskets, knitting, felting and spinning, among others. I love to continually learn about the things I love and about new things.

That’s a lot to love but it’s only the tip of my mountain of loves! Thankfully, love is infinite!

I have discovered that the very start of each day is the most important moment, and that I can positively influence each day that remains to me by just practicing a few positive statements and actions. In case you are like me, and are interested in starting your day on an upbeat note, here is a list of positive thoughts and actions to get you started. I am certain you will find several that will transform your day from “Oh, no!” to “HaHa!”. Click below to receive the free printable list.

I hope the list is helpful and that we will get to know one another through this blog. Leave me a comment below and let me know what you add to the list. Feel free to comment with any questions, or topics we should chat about in the future. I am certain we can grow together as we share information! Hurry back!
