This is a one-of-a-kind Bowl Buddy and Pan Handler Set. Because I knit them using high quality, fun, variegated wool yarn, no two will be the same. Even the set will have shading the same but each piece is different. You will be buying the exact pieces shown in the listing photos.
This set is an awesome addition to your kitchen or would make a great gift for a cook in your life. Both pieces are hand knit, by me, then wet felted to make perfect set for keeping your hands safe in the kitchen.
The pan handler is especially helpful for cast iron and stainless steel cookware with metal handles, but also useful on any pan handle for extra safety and grip. It is 5 1/2 inches long, not including the handy hanging loop. I knit the loop onto the handler before the felting process, so it is sturdily attached. The loop is not intended or designed to hang your pan from, but it does allow you to hang the handler on your hanging pot rack with other looped pot holders. The 100% wool handlers are thick and heat resistant, but should not be left on pans placed in the oven, used too close to high temperatures or exposed to open flame. While they are more flame resistant than a cloth pot holder, I would say if the conditions would scorch or burn cloth, they will not be good for these handlers.
The bowl buddy is so handy! It is versatile and so easy to use and care for. Like all of my wet felted knit items, I hand knit this bowl of 100% pure high quality wool, then carefully wet felt and block it to this size and thickness. This bowl includes a handy hanging loop for storage – the loop also makes it easy to position your bowl in a microwave. The felted bowl is 6 inches in diameter and 1-1/2 inches tall. Would you believe that when I knit them, before felting, they are about 9 inches in diameter and about 3 inches tall?!!
I use these in the microwave as a bowl holder when heating soup or leftovers. Bowls get too hot to handle and I don’t want to put that hot bowl on my counter. These are also great as over-sized coasters or mug rugs. Great to handle that hot bowl of soup or cold bowl of ice cream while watching TV. It can also sit on your dresser to empty pockets into. The best part is you can easily hand wash and reshape over a bowl to air dry.
(Note: Price is per one bowl and handler set and the props in photos are not included – but I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that! The Corelle brand glass bowls I am showing on the mats are the 18 ounce and 28 ounce bowls, and the cast iron skillet is 8″.)
