I am listing these Bowl Buddies individually, because the self striping yarn just comes out a bit different. There are others listed that would easily coordinate with this one if you need a set. You will be buying the one in the pictures. This bowl was knit with the hanging loop. It gives you the option of hanging or storing it on a shelf. It is also a convenient tab for positioning in the microwave.
These little bowls are so handy! They are versatile and so easy to use and care for. Like all of my wet felted knit items, I hand knit this bowl of 100% pure high quality wool, then carefully wet felt them. Additional shaping and blocking to create this size and thickness.
Want to get a bowl of soup and watch TV? These will keep the hot bowl manageable. We also use these in the microwave as a bowl holder when heating soup or leftovers. Bowls get too hot to handle and I don’t want to put that hot bowl on my counter. These are great as over-sized coasters or mug rugs. It can also sit on your dresser to empty pockets into. It is a perfect gift for anyone. The best part is you can easily hand wash and reshape over a bowl to air dry.
(Note: Price is per bowl and the props in photos are not included – but I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that! The Corelle brand glass bowls I am showing on the mats are the 18 ounce and 28 ounce bowls.)
The felted bowls are generally about 6 inches in diameter and 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 inches tall. Would you believe that when I knit them, before felting, they are about 9 inches in diameter and about 4 inches tall?!!
