Description
This is a hand woven, mixed-media basket. I used a combination of small tea-dyed round reed and a lightly spun 100% wool yarn. It reminds me of the little catkins on a pussy willow shrub. In nature, the little catkins act as tiny coats to protect the tiny flowers of these early bloomers. Isn’t the diversity of nature amazing?
You can do so much with a little basket added to your home decor options. Use it as an organizer. Fill it with decorative pretties like my alpaca rocks or eggs. Turn it into a planter by adding a liner. Create a home for your succulent garden. Arrange some pretty flowers.
This is one of my favorite small to medium basket designs. This one is hand woven of tea dyed reed using no chemicals. The wool is soft and fuzzy. I often us bits of yarn, fleece or dried natural plants in my designs. The overall look is still very neutral for decorating. This basket also has a pretty double woven rim.
This is a one of a kind basic basket. Even when I try to make matching pieces, each ends up with their own look and shape. Each basket is listed individually, so look closely at the photos for details. This basket has a 2 1/2 inches diameter opening at the top, is about 5 inches at the widest point and stands about 4 1/2 inches tall. See other listings for additional baskets. I list these separately so you are buying exactly the basket in the pictures.
I weave these of natural round reed, with other natural fibers so they are durable and strong. They are hand made, individual and unique.
Great gift ideas!
